JO Yeseul admired the older members of her comics club in middle school, so she followed them all the way to the creative comics department of an art high school. In her first year, Jo and her friends made a stop motion animation titled Orgel which won the Future Award at the Mise-en-scène Short Film Festival. Instead of pursuing the lonely path of a solitary comics artist, Jo changed her trajectory to the team-oriented genre of animation. Following her university entry exams, she was introduced to an animation project being made by a senior student, director Lee Yong Sun. She contributed to every project made by Lee, including Trying to Remember, Toilet Concours, and the feature-length film I’ll Just Live in Bando. Her solo directorial debut came with The Game of All, which compares life to a virtual-reality game. Her second short animation Oolang Oolang was a romantic comedy inspired by Jo’s experience running for class president in high school. Her latest work in progress, Find It! Destiny (Working title), is a rom-com about someone that has a crush on a senior student who suddenly disappears, so they set out to find the object of their affection. Jo’s next goal is to make a feature-length film. She may take a step back from time to time, but she is always moving forward..
