보이지 않는 것을 보기
2020년 1분도 안 되는 영화제 트레일러에서 출발한 <옷장 속 사람들>은 2024년 러닝타임 15분 동안 어떤 도시의 하루를 담아 공개됐다. 주인공은 이름도 성별도 알 수 없는 투명한 존재다. 다만 옷과 가방, 모자와 구두로 나이와 직업과 취향을 짐작할 따름이다. 감독의 제작사인 한국의 비트윈 더픽쳐스, 프랑스의 미유 프로덕션, 캐나다의 국립영화위원회 공동제작으로, 참여한 스태프들의 배경도 다양하다. <옷장 속 사람들>을 완성한 뒤에는 스톱모션 감독, 실사 촬영 감독과 2D와 픽실레이션을 결합시킨 윤석철트리오의 뮤직비디오 <너와 나는 같은 걸 보고 있었어>를 만들었다. 2025년 1월에는 애니메이션 총괄 프로듀서를 맡은 6부작 티빙 오리지널 다큐멘터리 <라이프라인>도 공개되었다. 혼자보다는 여럿이 작업하는 게 좋지만, 스스로 발견하는 재미를 찾아 천천히 다음 작업을 구상 중이다.

Looking at the invisible
Starting from a festival trailer of less than one minute in 2020, Society of Clothes premiered in 2024 as a 15-minute short film capturing a day in the life of a city. Its protagonist is a transparent being with no discernible name or gender. The character’s age, profession, and preferences can only be inferred from their clothes, bag, hat, and shoes. The film was created through a collaboration between the director’s Korean studio, Between the Pictures, French studio Miyu Productions, and the National Film Board of Canada, showcasing a team with diverse backgrounds. After completing Society of Clothes, the director worked on a music video for the Yunseokcheol Trio’s You and I Had Seen the Same Thing, combining 2D animation and pixilation with the contributions of a stop-motion director and live-action cinematographers. In January 2025, a six-part TVING original documentary series, Lifeline, where the director served as the supervising animation producer, was also released. Although Jeong Dahee prefers working with a team over working alone, she is currently taking her time planning her next project, which she hopes will bring her the joy of personal discovery.
