다중 우주의 안내자

홍학순은 1998년부터 토끼언어로 「윙크토끼 설계도」를 그려왔다. 삐뚤빼뚤한 동그라미와 그 속에서 탄생한 캐릭터로 가득한 페이지는 만 장에 달한다. 일명 「토끼책」은 윙크토끼 세계관을 구축해나가는 작가의 그림일기다. 동그라미 세계에서 홍학순은 전 우주의 친구들의 대리인이다. 또한 그는 찾아오는 누구나에게 다람쥐 주민등록증을 발급해주는 <다람쥐 주민센터>의 직원이다. 거기다 <본능 미용실>의 디자이너로 상담과 뇌스캔을 통해 손님의 본능 아바타를 만들어 준다. 최근에는 직접 본능디자이너들을 발굴해서 더 많은 사람들의 본능을 찾아주었다. 한 마디로 홍학순은 보이지 않는 세계와 보이는 세계의 매개자다. 윙크토끼와 친구들, 다람쥐들이 사는 세계와 각자 다른 본능을 지닌 사람들의 내면을 볼 수 있는 투시 능력자다. 회화와 애니메이션, 수작업과 디지털 작업을 넘나들며 자신의 우주를 개척해온 홍학순은 2021년, 열렬한 NFT 전도사가 되어 우리를 명랑한 예술가의 메타버스로 초대한다.

A Guide through a Multiverse

Since 1998, HONG Haksoon has been drawing his book The Circle World, using the language of the rabbit. The wriggly circle and the characters born within filled ten thousand pages. Also called the Tokki Book, this publication is an artistic journal documenting the author’s process of creating the Wink Rabbit universe. In the circle that represents the world, HONG Haksoon stands in for all the friends across the cosmos. He is the worker in the Squirrel Community Center where visitors can receive a squirrel registration. He is the designer in the Instinct Beauty Shop, offering consultations and brain scans to discover the “instinct avatar” for the customer. Recently, he even found instinct designers to help more people discover their instinct avatars. In a word, HONG is a bridge between the invisible and visible worlds. He has the ability to see Wink Rabbit and friends, the world where the squirrels live, and people who have different instincts. Using both painting and animation, hand-drawn and digital techniques, he has continued to explore his own universe. In 2021, he is preaching the gospel of NFT and inviting us to step into the metaverse of a most cheerful artist.
